Twenty7tec has released the latest episode of its ELEVATE Podcast Series, From "I Think" to "I Know": How Data Is Transforming Mortgage Lending, exploring why real-time market intelligence is becoming increasingly important for lenders navigating today's fast-moving mortgage market.

Hosted by Ellisha Jade, the episode features Nick Wakeham, Head of Data Sales at Twenty7tec, alongside Kim Lugtenaar, Product Innovation Manager at Saffron Building Society. Together, they discuss how live market intelligence is helping lenders better understand adviser behaviour, identify changing customer needs and make more confident product decisions.

The discussion comes as Twenty7tec's latest Mortgage Market Snapshot recorded 1.77 million mortgage searches in June, up 7% month on month. Residential purchase searches increased by 8%, while first-time buyer searches rose by 9%, highlighting how quickly adviser demand can evolve as market conditions change.

Nick Wakeham, Head of Data Sales at Twenty7tec, said:

"The pace of change across the mortgage market means decisions based on historic data simply aren't enough anymore. Whether it's changing affordability, customer behaviour or wider economic events, lenders need confidence that they're responding to what's happening today, not what happened several weeks ago. That's where real-time market intelligence becomes incredibly valuable."

Alongside the podcast, Twenty7tec will soon publish a new customer case study with Saffron Building Society, exploring how the lender uses INSIGHT Pro to support product development and strategic decision making.

The case study details how Saffron moved away from relying on multiple disconnected data sources and assumptions, instead using real-time adviser search data to validate opportunities, identify emerging trends and build evidence-backed business cases. It also highlights how analysis that previously took days can now be completed in hours, allowing the team to respond more quickly to changing market conditions.

Kim Lugtenaar, Product Innovation Manager at Saffron Building Society, said:

"One of the biggest changes for us has been moving from saying, 'We think this is happening,' to being able to say, 'We know this is happening.' Having reliable, real-time market intelligence gives us far greater confidence when prioritising opportunities and building business cases.
