The Mortgage Store has announced the appointment of Morné Jacobs as Strategic Partnerships Director, further strengthening its senior leadership team as the business continues its exciting new phase of growth and transformation.
Joining the company on 1 July 2026, Morné brings more than 25 years of experience across financial services, housing and property sectors, having built an extensive reputation for developing strategic partnerships and driving commercial growth.
Morné joins The Mortgage Store from Countrywide Surveying Services, where he served as Director of New Build for the past two years. Prior to this, he spent more than 20 years with Lloyds Banking Group, most recently as National Housing Development Manager, having begun his career with Bank of Scotland.
Widely recognised and respected across the mortgage, new build and housing sectors, Morné has developed strong relationships throughout the industry and brings significant expertise in creating strategic partnerships that deliver long-term value for customers, businesses and stakeholders.
Founded in 2003 by Mark Deane and Jon Deane, and joined by James Kinns, who all remain actively involved in the business today, The Mortgage Store has established itself as one of the UK's leading mortgage and protection broker firms. Following 32% revenue growth in the last financial year and the appointment of its first Chief Executive Officer, Mathew Garner, in 2025, the business is continuing to invest heavily in its people, proposition and future ambitions.
The latest appointment follows a series of strategic leadership hires made over the past six months, including Brand & Marketing Director Nicola McCabe, Head of Associate Partner Network Nick Savage and Sales Director Emily Fox, alongside the creation of new leadership roles across Compliance, Employee Experience and Learning, Development & Customer Experience.
Today, The Mortgage Store supports customers across a comprehensive range of services including mortgage and protection advice, wills, conveyancing and surveying, with wealth management and specialist finance services set to launch in the very near future.
The firm was recently recognised when it was named Best Mortgage Broker (Over 50 Advisers) at the Mortgage Strategy (MS) Awards.
In his new role, Morné will lead the development and growth of strategic relationships across key sectors of the UK housing market, including national and regional housebuilders, new build developers, estate agency partnerships, the second-hand property market and strategic introducer relationships.
The appointment is aligned to the company's long-term vision of becoming the UK's first choice for financial wellbeing and its mission to deliver the very best end-to-end service for customers throughout every stage of their financial journey.
Mathew Garner, Chief Executive Officer at The Mortgage Store, said:
"Morné's appointment is another significant milestone in our transformation journey and a clear reflection of our ambitions for the future.
We have invested heavily in strengthening our leadership team over the past year and are further building the capability, partnerships and proposition required to support the exciting next phase of our growth.
Morné brings exceptional commercial experience, a strong industry network and a proven track record of developing strategic relationships that create long-term value. As we continue to broaden our offering and strengthen our position across the UK housing and financial services markets, his expertise will be invaluable, and we're delighted to have him on board."
Morné Jacobs added:
"Joining The Mortgage Store is an exciting opportunity to work with a business that has built an outstanding reputation across the mortgage and protection sector through its commitment to service, innovation and strong industry relationships.
The business has a clear vision for growth and an ambition to become the UK's first choice for financial wellbeing, which makes this an incredibly exciting time to join the team.
I'm looking forward to reconnecting with many of my existing contacts and building new relationships across the industry in this new capacity.
