Monument Technology delivers live Banking Platform for Ecology Building Society

Banking platform provider, Monument Technology, has today (16th April 2026) announced ethical mortgage and savings mutual, Ecology Building Society, is now fully live on its platform, marking the completion of a major core transformation programme and cementing the partnership first announced in 2024. 

With the platform now fully implemented, Ecology has now migrated all of its savings and mortgage business onto Monument Technology’s end-to-end Banking Platform as a Service (BPaaS), providing the mutual with a fully integrated, digital-led operating model.

Monument Technology’s BPaaS enables banks and building societies to deploy a modern, modular and cloud-native banking platform covering savings, lending, payments and more, fronted by customised digital channels such as mobile apps and a web portal. 

By taking responsibility for implementation, integration, ongoing management and future enhancements, Monument Technology allows institutions to focus on growing their business rather than managing complex technology estates.

Ecology is the first organisation to adopt the full Monument Technology platform, which delivers a single, integrated solution spanning customer onboarding, savings and lending products, mortgage origination, account servicing, payments, CRM and data to support regulatory reporting. 

Delivered as a managed service, Monument Technology said it removes the need to build and maintain multiple systems, while ensuring ongoing updates and access to best-in-class technology components.

The transformation and migration for Ecology has been completed in just over 18 months, which Monument Technology said was a significantly shorter timeframe than many comparable programmes within the financial services sector. 

By deploying digital channels, consolidating systems and streamlining processes, Ecology said it is now able to deliver a significantly enhanced service for its members and brokers, improve operational efficiency and support its future growth ambitions.

Monument Technology said the successful delivery of the Ecology transformation represented a compelling proof point for its platform, which takes its foundations from the technology used to build and scale Monument Bank.

Since its founding in 1981, Ecology Building Society has been dedicated to financing homes and projects that deliver environmental and social benefits. It remains a purpose-driven mutual, supporting energy-efficient homes, eco-renovations and conversions, community-led housing, and sustainable businesses.
