Halifax Intermediaries is rolling out a modernised online mortgage application experience, delivering on its commitment to invest in technology, data, insight, and tools that make it easier for brokers to do business.
Launched this week for purchase and remortgage applications, the new experience has been shaped by broker feedback and will make it easier to navigate applications, upload documents, and submit self-employed cases.
The improvements include:
- a cleaner, more intuitive design.
- clearer content and smoother navigation.
- drag-and-drop document uploads and the ability to upload multiple files at once, and
- a simpler journey for self-employed applications, with fewer data fields to complete.
The changes form part of the evolution towards Lloyds’ branding in early 2027.
Delivering on commitments to brokers
The modernised platform is the latest step in delivering against a series of commitments made to the intermediary market, recognising the role brokers play in supporting mortgage customers.
These include:
- access to the Lloyds Premier Current Account mortgage discount on Halifax mortgages.
- procuration fees that recognise the complexity behind brokers' work.
- a named BDM contact.
- all documents reviewed within 24 hours, with instant escalation when it matters, and
- continued investment in technology, data, insight and tools.
It follows the extension of the Lloyds Premier Current Account mortgage discount to eligible Halifax intermediary mortgages from 7 July 2026, giving eligible clients access to even greater value through their broker.
Changing the experience, not the things brokers rely on
While the online experience is being modernised, brokers do not need to take any action ahead of the change.
Log-in details and the way brokers submit business remain the same, as does the core application journey. Brokers will therefore be able to start using the refreshed experience straight away.
The approach reflects the wider promise behind the move to Lloyds Intermediaries: creating a simpler structure and stronger proposition for brokers and their customers while keeping the services, relationships and support brokers already know.
Frances, Cassidy, Head of Strategic & Technology Partnerships, at Lloyds Banking Group, said:
“We promised the change over to the Lloyds brand would deliver more for brokers and their clients, and these improvements are more evidence of us putting that into practice.
“Brokers told us where we could make their day-to-day experience easier. We’ve listened, with a cleaner application journey, simpler document uploads and a more straightforward process for self-employed cases.
“Just as importantly, we’re improving the experience without changing the things brokers already rely on. Our core application journey is still familiar, while the modernised platform gives us greater flexibility to keep improving and respond to broker feedback.
“Alongside our wider commitments on service, support and value, this continued investment is about building a stronger intermediary proposition as we move towards completing our Lloyds rebrand in 2027.”
